Mykonos beaches

Mykonos has some really beautiful beaches many of which are fairly close to the town and can be reached by local bus which operates throughout the day.

Psarou and Platis Gialos

These 2 beaches are separated by a large headland, both offer great facilities with sunbeds, restaurants, and Psarou having the amazing Nammos beach club.

Paraga

This beach is the next one beyond Platis Gialos and offers another fantastic beach with bathing in crystal clear waters.

Paraga has several beach clubs/bars that are laid back during the early part of the day and build up to full party mode by late afternoon.

Paradise and Super Paradise

These bays are 2 of the most famous beaches on the island of Mykonos.

Both have first-class facilities including sun loungers, beach restaurants/bars and wonderful swimming from perfect beaches.

Paradise has a lively beach club which goes into full swing by late afternoon with a mainly young clientele.

Super Paradise also has a great beach club which plays chilled out sounds for most of the day then hots up to a full club scene until the sun goes down.

Elia, Kalafatis, Aghia Anna, Kalo Livadi, and Agrari

These bays are located to the southeast of Mykonos town, all offer great swimming in crystal clear waters with near-perfect beaches.

All feature the normal facilities including sunbeds, restaurants/bars plus good watersports from both Kalafatis and Elia.

For those that prefer the small cove style of the bay then Agrari may be the ideal choice for a lazy day on the beach.

Mykonos beaches away from the crowds

The island has many amazing beaches and if you are happy to explore then you will not be dissapointed, most of the beaches are serviced by good roads but some are still fairly narrow tracks so no need to rush.

Ftelia, Panormos and Agios Sostis : These 3 bays are located to the north east of Mykonos town and are best reached by your own transport. Ftelia is the nearest to town and has a long sweeping bay with a fairly constant wind blowing which makes it popular with windsurfing enthusiasts. The west end of the beach his fairly protected and is good for swimming, here you will also find a beach restaurant/bar with sunbeds for rent. Panormos is a small beach resort with a number of accommodations and good beach facilities with lovely bathing again in crystal clear seas. Good choice of places to eat including a very stylish beach lounge restaurant/bar, or maybe pop over to Agios Sostis which has a very popular greek style taverna.

Lia : Lovely beach with soft sand and unbelievably clear sea which makes swimming a real pleasure. Good beach facilities with a popular beach club which has a nice relaxing chilled out atmosphere. Definitely worth a look.

Mykonos beaches close to town

The island has a few beaches that are within walking distance to the town and close to many of the accommodations that have sprung up over the years.

Agios Stephanos, Ornos, Korfos and Megali Ammos : All of these beaches have great facilities but can get busy in high season as they are close to the town and also have lots of accommodations near by. The great thing about Mykonos beaches is no matter which one you choose the swimming and beach life is always a true delight.
